Young solicitor achieves success without leaving town. (Article published in the Narrandera Argus on Nov,17 2022)

ROTARY Narrandera named young solicitor Jack Langley as Exceptional Employee of the Year at its recent business awards ceremony.

About 70 people were in attendance at Narrandera Golf Club to celebrate the achievements of local businesses and individuals.

Mr Langley started as an employee with Farrell Goode solicitors as a law clerk in 2018. He finished his Bachelor of Laws through the University of New England and was admitted as a solicitor earlier this year in June.

Mr Langley said winning the award “certainly cane as a surprise”.

“All nominees were exceptionally deserving so I feel honoured to have received the award,” he said.

“It feels great to be acknowledged for the efforts invested into work.

“No doubt like all of the nominees, if you enjoy what you are doing and are passionate about your chosen field, you strive to assist with clients in the best way possible.

“All nominees are certainly worthy and there are many more employees in our shire that are exceptional in their chosen field”.

Jack Langley was named Exceptional Employee of the Year in Rotary Narrandera’s award ceremony.

Recognition is not the driving force behind Mr Langley’s desire to excel at his workplace.

“I do appreciate being recognised for the work invested, however I do what I do for a passion in law and wishing to help each client with their particular matter as best as I possibly can,” he said.

“I feel that living in a country town, any service provided to clients needs to be personable.

“I enjoy building rapport with clients and assisting their matters in a way that the client feels both comfortable and holds a thorough understanding of the issues at hand.

“Whether that be making myself available to talk through problems or spending extra time to explain particular concepts, it is most important for a client to understand their position and feel supported when making such legal decisions.”

Mr Langley said it had been a great experience since he accepted the role with the local solicitors four years ago after finishing his education at Narrandera High School.

He is mostly involved in general law matters and would like to specialise in farming succession law.

Supportive employers and colleagues have helped Mr Langley in his daily duties helping others.

“Farrell Goode has been an exceptionally supportive workplace to start and grow my career initially as a law clerk and subsequently now as a solicitor,” Mr Langley said.

“The firm has been very supportive of the achievement and I feel the award is a direct reflection of the devotion the firm has in assisting clients on their matters in the most helpful and efficient way possible.

“I feel the opportunity to study and work in our town under the direction of our director Jason Goode and the staff at the firm has assisted greatly in providing the framework to assist clients with tailored legal advice unique to their matters.”

Farrell Goode solicitor director Jason Goode is delighted to have his award-winning employee on board, describing Mr Langley as a great asset to the business.
