Background:

Carmen Schreijaeg joined Farrell Goode in February 2026, bringing with her more than three decades of legal and semi-legal industry experience.

Her career began in 1991 working in debt recovery, court and legal process matters, including bankruptcy and insolvency. In 1999, Carmen transitioned fully into the legal industry, building an extensive career across conveyancing, family law and criminal law, with a strong focus on residential property matters.

In 2004, Carmen obtained her Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing and became a qualified Licensed Conveyancer. Over the years, she has developed a reputation for delivering high-quality client service, attention to detail and practical support across a broad range of legal matters.

Roles and Responsibilities

Carmen assists Mitchell Flakelar across all areas of his practice, including conveyancing, family law and estate planning matters. Her role includes transcribing dictations, supporting file management and assisting with the day-to-day progression of client matters.

Her extensive background in property law and legal administration makes her a valuable support to both the legal team and clients alike.

Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, Carmen enjoys the outdoors, nature, animals and wildlife, travelling, gardening, literature, film and music. She has a love of both classical and contemporary music, with Placebo being a favourite band. Her favourite sport is soccer.

Community Involvement

Having moved to Cootamundra in 2006, Carmen enjoys being part of the local community and values the opportunity her role at Farrell Goode provides to further strengthen those community connections.

Interesting Fact

Carmen was born in Freiburg, Germany, and spent her early years living in the country town of Ebringen in the Black Forest region. She moved to Australia in 1984 at the age of 11 and is fluent in both German and English. She enjoys meeting people from all walks of life and sharing a great conversation and a good laugh.
